California Office of Historic Preservation (http://ohp.parks.ca.gov/) – provides assistance in identifying and protecting historic properties, archaeological sites, burial places, and other cultural sites in the state.  The California Historical Resources Information System (http://ohp.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1068) manages the statewide Historical Resources Inventory, a database of historic and cultural resources identified through the Office of Historic Preservation Programs. 

California State Archives (http://www.sos.ca.gov/archives/) – identifies, preserves, and makes accessible records (such as census records, military records, family histories, and various county, state and federal records) and other historical documents that can help you research your special sites. 

 The Online Archive of California (http://www.oac.cdlib.org/) – free public access to primary resource collections maintained by more than 150 contributing institutions, including libraries and historical societies.
