In addition, information on becoming certified and licensed as a Private Pesticide Applicator is available. Specific links of interest include:

Ohio State University Cooperative Extension- Pesticide Safety Education Program http://pested.osu.edu/private.html

Oversees the certification program for Private Pesticide Applicators. Their website has information certification and licensing requirements in your state. Information on recertification (which is required every 3 years) is also provided.

Forest landowners wishing to apply restricted use pesticides on their property must be licensed as a Private Pesticide Applicator.

Study materials and online training classes for the Private Pesticide Applicator exam as well as information on recertification classes can be obtained through this website. In addition, some county extension offices offer optional training classes for the exam and dates and locations can be found online.
