The Montana Tree Farm System includes non-industrial private forest owners, community forests, professional foresters, forest industry representatives, and staff from state and federal agencies.

The Montana Tree Farm System's mission is to promote the growing of renewable forest resources on private lands while protecting environmental benefits, increasing public understanding of all the benefits of productive forestry and raising the level of knowledge about natural resource issues as related to forestry management.

Your dues and donations help support MTFS offer benefits such as newsletters, networking, tours, the annual meeting and visits from a natural resource professional.

Membership Information


Montana Tree Farm Membership Criteria:

Own 10 or more forested acres Maintain a current forest stewardship or management plan adhering to the Standards of Sustainability Participate in recertification process at least once every five years.

Montana Tree Farm Membership Categories:

  • Individual or Family – 1 year $25
  • Business or organization – 1 year $25 Lifetime $500
