Developed by ATFS, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the U.S. Forest Service, with input from state foresters and other partners, the management plan will allow landowners to use one management plan to participate in ATFS, the Forest Stewardship Program and NRCS incentive programs.

2010 - 2015 Standards of Certification

The 2010-2015 Standards of Sustainability for Forest Certification serve as the basis for the American Tree Farm System® (ATFS) certification program. These standards promote the vitality of renewable forest resources while protecting environmental, economic and social benefits and work to increase public understanding of all benefits of sustainable forestry.

Standards Guidance

The Standards Guidance document includes examples and information on how the 2010 - 2015 ATFS Standards can be implemented on the ground. The guidance statements are intended to inform landowners, ATFS-trained inspectors and the third-party auditors as to the intent of the ATFS Standards.  Guidance statements are not the Standard.
