Vintage Wine, Widgets, and Woods Tour

Hosted by Tom Fox

Thursday, October 16

This tour departs the Hilton at 8am and returns at 4:30pm

Cost: $80pp

Includes: transporation, lunch, wine tasting

The Pacific Northwest is famous for its trees, history and wine grapes, and on this tour you値l experience all three. For our first stop, we値l cross the mighty Columbia River into Washington state and visit an award-winning tree farm. A bastion of calm amid rapidly urbanizing Clark County, Washington, this tree farm will show you best practices in a fertile tree-growing area.

Next, you値l travel to the Pomeroy Living History Farm, an interactive educational museum nestled among tall firs in the foothills of the Cascade Range in southwest Washington. You値l see a live demonstration of old-time logging practices such as yarding, loading and hauling using an authentic antique steam donkey, log loader and logging truck.

We値l finish the day by traveling down the road a short distance to the Bethany Vineyard and Winery in Ridgefield. You値l tour the winery and sample its superb varietals, including the Northwest痴 famed Pinot Noir. Bethany combines the best traditions of winemaking with the ideal growing climate of southwest Washington to produce wines with distinct flavor and character. Requires moderate walking. Limited to 50 participants.
