Shared Streams in Maine –Narraguagus River

During summer 2002, the Narraguagus River project will close and stablize 3500 feet of road. The road, which was built around the turn of the century, is contributing sediment to a prime stretch of salmon habitat. Four-wheel ATV traffic that has been a major source of sedimentation on the road will be relocated to a more suitable area on public land.

During summer 2002, the Narraguagus River project closed and stablized 3500 feet of road that was too close to the river. Sediment from the road was degrading a prime stretch of salmon habitat due to heavy ATV traffic. ATV traffic was relocated to a more suitable area on public land.
