Elizabeth Sandler Named Director of ATFS
Washington, D.C. – Elizabeth Sandler has been named Director of the American Tree Farm System®. Formerly ATFS Certification Manager, Sandler will be responsible for overseeing Tree Farm operations, including internal program communications, meeting planning, the National Tree Farmer Convention, and National Leadership Conference, and inspector training. She will continue to handle ATFS Group Certification and is involved in working toward PEFC endorsement.

Liz brings a great deal of experience into this position. In 1999, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Northern Arizona University School of Forestry. In 2002, she was hired by ATFS as Certification Manager. Prior to joining ATFS, Liz was the Lead Coordinator for the Forestry & Wood Products department of the American Forest & Paper Association. Other experience includes completing a Henry Clepper Forest Policy Internship with the Society of American Foresters and a student internship with the Oregon Department of Forestry, as well as serving as program assistant in the Forestry department at Northern Arizona University.
