Drue Deberry Named Director Of Habitat Conservation Programs For The American Forest Foundation

Washington, D.C. — Drue DeBerry has been promoted to Director of Habitat Conservation Programs for the American Forest Foundation (AFF). The programs initiate and promote wildlife habitat improvement and demonstration projects on private, non-industrial forestlands around the country.

"It is a privilege to have the opportunity to bring together the finest forest landowners in the country with public and private conservation organizations like Trout Unlimited, the American Bird Conservancy, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service," DeBerry said.

Previously Drue worked as a wildlife biologist for the US Forest Service in California and Montana. He also served in the US Peace Corps as an aquaculture and agroforestry agent in Cameroon. Research projects during his career have taken him from the jungles of Uganda to the Arctic Circle in the Northwest Territories of Canada.

DeBerry holds a Master of Forest Science from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Conservation from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He can be reached at 202.463.5188 or by email at ddeberry@forestfoundation.org.
